Our Shop, Black Dog Customs, does more HMMWV® 4L80e transmission swaps than any other shop in the United States. We have designed a plug and play solution for the daunting task of wiring your 4-speed 4L80 transmission into your humvee®. Our customers have reported that they have been able to wire their HMMWV®’s start to finish in 30 minutes to an hour.
We manufacture 3 different systems that will plug directly into your existing engine harness: a 6.5 turbo diesel full drive train swap, a 6.5 naturally aspirated full drive train swap or 4-speed retrofit, and one specially designed for a V-belt set up if you are adding a 4 speed to an existing 3-speed v belt set up.
Included in your kit is:
- Black Dog stand alone 6.5 TD wire harnesses
- US shift TCM
- All hardware, fasteners, grommets
- Detailed step by step installation instructions.
We also have quite a few clients abandoning their factory OEM 4 speed TCM’s for our superior system on their M1043, M1045, M1097, and M1123’s. The factory OEM set up on these trucks is early 1990’s technology, compared to our modern technology with our US shift TCM there is no comparison.
